Best Of 2017

A selection of my favourite photos from 2017 in a quick and fun slideshow.

2018 has a much more pleasing feel to it than 2017. Maybe it's the fact that it's an even number. Anyway, 2017 was another good year for me and my business. I've won some terrific new clients and have begun to focus the business more on corporate photography than ever before. This has led to more people finding me through Google which is great for them and me!

In 2018 I'm aiming to continue this trend and I'd love to acquire some more regular clients who have an ongoing need for fresh, creative and stand out corporate photography. Whether it's portraits of people, photos of events or office photos for your company website, I can and would love to help. Just get in touch.

It was a challenging task whittling down the many thousands of images I shot last year to a manageable amount, but a fun process too, often stumbling across images I had forgotten about. That's what I love about photos, the way they can reignite a memory that had faded.

Anyway, on with the show, or slideshow in this case. Happy new year everyone, thanks for swinging by my website. Andy

Corporate Christmas Party

The EF Christmas party never disappoints, this year held at the uber cool Printworks in London's Canada Water,

It's that time of year when the livers of office workers across the capital are put to the test. The silly season. The fortnight when it's acceptable to go out for more than just a casual drink on a work night. And this season brings along with it the annual company Christmas party. Every company's Christmas party is different, but most have one thing in common; booze, an lots of it. The results? Hilarious dancing, laughter, jokes, short term office romances, and of course the whole office's decreased productivity the following day owing to the collective hangover.

I've photographed the EF Christmas party for three years now, and these guys know how to party. The first year was at 8 Northumberland, a great venue in the centre of town. Last year they held it at the Waterloo Vaults, another fun venue, and this year it was held at the awesome beast of a venue in Canada Water called the Printworks, which (if you hired out the whole thing) can hold 6000 people! EF didn't need quite that much space, so used their publishing space. The whole venue used to be the printing press for 24 years, with daily issues of The Evening Standard, The Daily Mail and The Metro rolling off its presses. As a result the venue has a wicked industrial vibe to it that not many places can rival.

Anyway, the party was kicked off with a speech from the Co-Chairman and from there, the fun kicked on well into the evening. There was a fantastic live band, rocking the dance floor with two amazing sets. A photo booth was operating, there were food trucks offering different cuisines and for the young at heart there were even dodgems - the only kind of driving where it's alright if you've had a drink or two before taking part!

The EF team are always brilliant fun and they didn't disappoint on the dance floor yet again. I'm already looking forward to next year's party...

Legal Arbitration Summit

Capturing a legal conference in a creative, vibrant way for Legalease Ltd at The Brewery in the heart of London city.

At the end of November I was back at one of London's great venues, The Brewery, right in the heart of the city. This time it was for a legal conference held by Legalease, a global leader in the provision of legal market information.

The International Arbitration Summit 2017 brought together experts from across the world for a series of panel discussions on the subject of arbitration.

Legalease publish and print magazines with features on the events they run, so their brief to me was to create imagery which would not only work well as a double page spread in magazines, but also serve to make the conference look dynamic and interesting. I love a brief like that, because it allows me to think outside the box and use creative lighting techniques to add colour and vibrancy to a conference environment.

Here are some of my favourite images from the day.
