London Corporate Headshot FAQs

Q: HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN YOU PHOTOGRAPH IN A DAY?

A: I ask for 10 minutes with each person. This allows me to shoot headshots for 48 people in a normal 8 hour day, or 24 people in a half day. Some photographers will tell you they can do it quicker, and I can do it quicker too, but having 10 minutes will always result in a better photo which each person is genuinely happy with.

Q: WHY DOES IT TAKE 10 MINUTES FOR EACH PERSON?

A: I always shoot with my camera connected to my laptop, so the photos can immediately be seen on a large 16” screen rather than the 2” screen on the back of my camera. The benefit of this is that it allows the person I am photographing to see how the photo looks and then work with them to ensure they end up with the best possible photo. I coach people within the 10 minute window on how to look better and the transformation from the start to the end is often significant. Trying to do all this in less that 10 minutes is very difficult.

Q. IS RETOUCHING INCLUDED?

A: For each final image, there is a charge which includes licensing and retouching. Retouching for headshots includes: removal of blemishes (anything that won’t be there in 6 months time), softening of wrinkles and bags around the eyes, reducing shiny skin and tidying of any flyaway hairs.

A: Each final image is delivered with a license to publish it in any media in perpetuity, worldwide. But that license is granted exclusively to the business which books me, not to any other business.

Q. WHAT IS THE LICENSE INCLUDED WITH THE IMAGES?

Q. HOW MANY PHOTOS DO WE GET PER PERSON?

Q. HOW MUCH SPACE DO YOU NEED TO TAKE CORPORATE HEADSHOTS?

Q. DO YOU HAVE A STUDIO?

A: You can have as many final images per person as you like, but I charge on a ‘per-image’ basis so many organisations stick with just one photo per person.

A. For photos on a white background, ideally I need a space of 5 metres by 3 metres at a minimum. For photos with the office in the background, a space of 3 metres by 3 metres is normally ample.

A. No I don’t have a studio as 99% of my work is on location. I often set up in a large meeting room at the offices of my clients. This allows enough room to operate whilst also providing each person with privacy when having their photo taken.
