Japanese Food @ St Giles Place
Food photography for the amazing international ramen restaurant, Ippudo.
I LOVE Japanese food. So much so that my fiancée and I are going to Japan on our honeymoon next year.
So I was very happy indeed when I had a phone call from Ippudo, a brilliant Japanese restaurant in the same development as Google's head office, asking me to come along and photograph their menu. Needless to say, they didn't need to ask me twice!
I spent a couple of days photographing their delicious selection of food, including a lot of ramen, their speciality. I'd be lying if I said I didn't eat some myself :-)
Ippudo is a chain in Japan but this is the first one in the UK. There is now a second one open in Canary Wharf. I think there might be a few more popping up, because the food is so good!

WJR Fundraising Dinner
The 2015 dinner, chaired by Emily Maitlis, was a great success.
World Jewish Relief is a great charity helping tackle Jewish humanitarian issues around the world. Their great work helps thousands of people every year but of course help can't be provided without the charity raising enough money to fund it all.
The annual dinner is a great event, with the lovely Emily Maitlis acting as compere for the evening. The main speaker this year was Fergal Keane, foreign correspondent for the BBC, and his speech moved the whole room.
It was a pleasure to photograph such an important event - here are some of my favourite images...
Media Trust Summit 2015
The Media Trust is a charity that uses the power of media to help other charities get their voice heard.
I was delighted to be asked to come along and document their annual summit held at the Museum of London in the heart of the city.
There were some great speakers on show, including some representatives from charities who have had great success and some other speakers from the world of communications, including Amelia Torode, chief strategy officer at TBWA London one of the most well know advertising agencies in town.
Having worked in advertising and marketing strategy myself in a past life, I remember reading her blog, so I was particularly interested in what she had to say, and she didn't disappoint - one very smart cookie.

Inside Out Victoria: Gymbox Outdoor Rave
As part of the Inside Out Victoria series of events, I was invited along to Cardinal Place to capture a fitness session run by the local Gymbox branch which was called the 'rave' session.
It was all women who turned up for it - apparently the men of Victoria didn't fancy an outdoor dance in public on a week night!
Lighting wise it was a bit of a challenge, as there were about 25 participants and the sun set behind was more or less as the session began. There wasn't too much ambient light being emitted by the surrounding office blocks either, so I had four speedlights on stands around the group.
The leader of the 'rave' session was full of energy and was brilliant. She made sure everyone was getting fully into it, so by the end of the 45 minute session, everyone was dripping with sweat with big smiles on their face.
