Saudi Arabian Billboards for Bubbly

I was watching a Division 2 football match on Saturday afternoon when I received a new business email on my phone. It was slightly unusual in that it was a last minute request for a photo of a Saudi celebrity. So on Sunday morning I found myself taking photos of Mr Khaled Almatrafi, the manager of the Alaraybia channel, in his hotel in central London. He was a really nice guy - obviously popular given he has over 305,000 followers on Twitter and over 10,000 on Instagram!

The photos I was taking will be used on billboards across Saudi Arabia in order to advertise Bubbly, a popular social network in that part of the world.

I will try and post an image of one of the billboards if I can get my hands on one! Watch this space.

Time in a different kind of studio

I spent a few hours at my friend Rutie's studio yesterday - she's a very talented painter, whose work you should definitely check out on RutieBorthwick.com. It was such a great shoot - she felt relaxed in her studio so much that her kooky personality came through in the photos. I was really pleased with some of the end results - so much that I've put a couple of the portraits on my main website, AndyTylerPhotography.co.uk.

Walk.Eat.Talk.Eat.

The Walk.Eat.Talk.Eat. tour gets going through the streets of East London Today I had the pleasure of joining a food tour of East London led by my friend Charli and her walking tours company, Walk.Eat.Talk.Eat.

We started in Dishoom, a modern Indian restaurant, before heading across the road to grab some supersize jammy dodgers from Albion for the impending walk.

Having scoffed down the jammy dodgers, we headed to Brick Lane to grab a beigel, although the shop was so busy that we skipped it and headed to Ely's Yard instead. Huddling under the gazebo to stay out of the rain, we had these lovely Italian flatbreads from Piadina Pronta, and tasty (but not too spicy) buffalo wings from Orange Buffalo.

To finish off there were chips from Poppies fish and chip shop on Hanbury Street, which have apparently recently won an award for having the best chips in London. I'm not sure I agree with that though!
