Choral Festival

I love the variety my job provides. One day I might be photographing some products, the next day an event, the next day some portraits, the next day a wedding, the next day....well, you get the idea.

This time my job took me to West London Synagogue to capture a concert put on by several choirs from across Europe. The concert was organised by the Zemel Choir, the UK's leading mixed voice Jewish choir. The synagogue itself is very old - 175 years old this year in fact, and it is absolutely stunning inside. The acoustics inside made for a wonderful concert too.

Some of my favourite photos from the event can be seen below.

Encouraging Youth Social Action

A while ago I was invited along by a great charity by the name of Step Up To Serve to come along and photograph a roundtable event for their #IWill initiative. I photographed a big event for the same charity at the O2 at the end of 2014. The campaign is to encourage more social action at schools across the UK. Attending the event were representatives from schools across the country, discussing and workshopping ideas of how to drive further participation amongst their pupils.

The event took place in the beautiful Oxo Tower restaurant, with brilliant views of the London skyline and delicious food for all the attendees.

Some of my favourite photos from the event can be seen below.

Design Ventura Winners

I was invited along to the Design Museum a couple of weeks ago to take some photos of some students from Manchester who had won the museum’s Design Ventura prize.

The competition, sponsored by Deutsche Bank, was to design and create a new product that could be sold in the museum shop.

The students came up with a great product, called ‘Card Cogs’, which are little plastic discs with grooves cut into them that allow you to easily build robust structures out of playing cards. The ‘Card Cogs’ are sold in a box along with a deck of playing cards, so people can start building anything their imagination conjures up straight away.

The students came up to the museum in the morning, picked up the materials that had been manufactured and then formed an assembly line in a nearby restaurant to package the ‘Card Cogs’ up in their packaging, ready to be sold. Later in the day they headed over to the Deutsche Bank offices in the city to set up a pop-up shop in the lobby, with the aim of selling as many units as possible bankers on their lunch break.

My pick of the photos can be seen below.

Thomas Sabo Jewellery

A couple of weeks ago I went along to the beautiful Corinthia Hotel around the corner from Trafalgar Square to capture an event that Thomas Sabo runs twice a year where it showcases its latest designs and products to its own retail teams and also other retailers.

It’s always a lovely event with plenty of shiny jewellery on show and lots of smiles. For this particular event Mr Thomas Sabo himself was in attendance, so it was a special occasion.

Sadly the event fell on the day that London’s tube workers decided to strike, so there were less people in attendance than there otherwise would have been, but it was still a great event. I had gotten up an hour earlier than normal to make sure I got there in time, but the buses were so packed full that I ended up having to walk for an hour with my kit into town. Needless to say I was a bit warm by the time I arrived at the hotel.

Here are some of my favourite photos from the event.
