Inside Out Victoria: Gymbox Outdoor Rave

As part of the Inside Out Victoria series of events, I was invited along to Cardinal Place to capture a fitness session run by the local Gymbox branch which was called the 'rave' session.

It was all women who turned up for it - apparently the men of Victoria didn't fancy an outdoor dance in public on a week night!

Lighting wise it was a bit of a challenge, as there were about 25 participants and the sun set behind was more or less as the session began. There wasn't too much ambient light being emitted by the surrounding office blocks either, so I had four speedlights on stands around the group.

The leader of the 'rave' session was full of energy and was brilliant. She made sure everyone was getting fully into it, so by the end of the 45 minute session, everyone was dripping with sweat with big smiles on their face.

Some of my favourite shots from the event...

L'Occitane En Provence Store Revamp

A few weeks ago I was invited along to Westfield in White City to take some photos at the re-opening of the L'Occitane En Provence shop, following a full refurb.

There were glasses of fizz for customers who popped in, but I think it was a bit early in the morning for most! The store looked great, as you can see in the shots below.

Blue Rubicon Summer Party

Blue Rubicon is one of London's top PR agencies whom I am privileged to work with on an increasingly frequent basis.

So I was really happy when they asked me to come along and photograph their annual summer party this year. Their party took the shape of a festival by the name of Bluebury - a little like Glastonbury but a lot more local and with a lot less big name music acts and a LOT less mud.

There was beer pong, a bucking rodeo, some bands and even rock-a-oke. It made for a great party followed by what I'm told were many sore heads the morning after.

Here are some of my fave shots.

House Of Cards

This summer I was asked by World Jewish Relief to come along and photograph a fundraising event they were holding, at which Michael Dobbs, the author of the original House of Cards book and resulting trilogy. He spends most of his time acting as a Conservative MP.

Dobbs was interviewed by Richard Suchet, a BBC broadcaster who is the nephew of the well known actor David Suchet. As a fan of the recent Netflix remake starring Kevin Spacey, I found it really interesting to hear Dobbs' opinion on it and what has been changed and what has been left as originally penned in the books.

The event took place at RSA House, which was a great venue, allowing for a drinks reception on the ground floor before the interview itself took place in a grand room upstairs, with amazing artwork on every wall.

Here are some of my favourite shots from the night.
