A McDonald's People Conference

A conference for all the people managers from McDonald’s across the UK.

McDonald’s obviously employs thousands of people across the UK to run its restaurants, and each of those restaurants is looked after by managers and those managers are looked after by area managers, as you would expect in a business of its size.

I was invited along to photograph a conference for these people in Milton Keynes, where they talked about what was working for the business and what they are planning for the future, as well as doing some fun team-building activities. They even capped it off with a sit-down dinner and party in the evening which featured a great quiz run by a chap in a very colourful suit indeed!

Here are some of my favourite images from the conference.

People Of McDonald's

I met and photographed some of the senior people at the McDonald’s HQ in London.

I was lucky enough to visit the UK headquarters of McDonald’s in London where I was asked to take some portrait photos of some of their senior people.

I’ve heard a few times that McDonald’s is a great company to work for, and every time I meet people who work there, I can see why. They’re a friendly and welcoming bunch, whether you’re talking to someone who is just starting their career or someone who is on the executive board. That says a lot about the atmosphere within a company I think. Everyone in the same boat, heading in the same direction.

Here are some of the images I took recently of some senior people in a breakout area of the office.

Fast Food (and Photos)

The global CEO of McDonald's, Steve Easterbrook, visiting the McDonald's where he worked as a manager back in 1993.

Picture the scene. It's a cold and wet winter's day shortly before Christmas. It's lunchtime.

McDonald's drive through in Bushey is a busy place, full of hungry customers taking a break from their day and having lunch.

The perfect moment for the global CEO of McDonald's, Steve Easterbrook, to visit the store where he first worked as a McDonald's manage in 1993, and see it doing so well.

I was there to simply take a photo of the current restaurant crew with Steve, so we set it up and took the photo in less than a minute. It's far from a perfect photo, but sometimes speed is more important when working with people like Steve. He didn't want to interrupt the lunchtime rush more than was necessary, so it was a quick job!
