Corporate Portrait Photography

Sometimes a headshot isn’t enough. You can’t show off your killer new suit with a headshot and a portrait allows you to not only do that, but also bring in some more context of where you are, and perhaps even some props that help bring your story to life.

I bring studio lighting with me to every shoot, so I can take beautiful photos in any conditions. I can even organise for full length studio-style photos in your office, provided you have the space available.

Knowing how to light people is of course paramount to portrait photographers like me. You shouldn’t take it for granted, because there are many photographers out there who claim to be able to create beautiful photos in any environment, but if they don’t have a big bright window to work alongside, they struggle. Stick me in a basement room with no natural light, and I can still create beautiful portraits.

Lighting aside, the real skill needed to take amazing portraits is of course people skills. When taking photos of business people, I’m always acutely aware that they are giving up their time for me, and more often than not, I have a short window.

My clients often comment on how I’m very good at helping people relax in front of the camera, because let’s face it, most people don’t love being in front of the camera. In fact, the most common phrase I hear when I’m doing portraits or headshots is, “I hate having my photo taken.”

That’s often the first thing people say to me, and just as often they leave the room saying something like “that was way better than I was expecting” having seen their photo on my laptop screen. I still get a kick from that, every time.
