The Brief
Headshots for the staff of Avison Young which showcase their diversity and personality. The brief asked for a bright, vibrant style that made everyone look their confident best.
The Process
Using a particular lighting set up with three strip lights in a triangular formation means that the results created are punchy, colourful and free of shadows, which is very flattering to all types of faces. I coach each person in how to pose and how to style their hair, if necessary, as well as what expression they need to look great. I always shoot with my camera connected to my laptop screen, so I work with each and every person to get the best possible photo of them before they leave the room.
Final Results
Many of the people I photograph leave the room feeling an inch or two taller, confident and happy with how they look in their photo. Often people who think they don’t like having their photo taken actually just haven’t had a nice photo of them taken before, so when they see these photos, they are really surprised and delighted.
