Corporate Event Photography Case Study

The Major Projects Association is a community of people sharing knowledge and experience to improve Major Projects in the UK. Each year they host an annual dinner for their members and this time it took place in the ballroom at one of London’s most prestigious hotel venues, Claridge’s in Mayfair.

The Brief

Capture the feel of the event from the drinks reception through to the dinner itself and the keynote speaker. The organisation’s AGM also takes place at the start of the evening and some photos were needed of that as well.

The Process

The challenge with working in venues like Claridges in the evening is that the lighting can be quite dim. I work with prime lenses in these situations that allow me to capture moments without sacrificing image quality or having to worry about blurry images. I try to blend in as much as I can at these kind of events, using silent cameras that allow me to capture the atmosphere without people noticing me. I work in a documentary style but of course am always happy taking posed photos of people when asked.

Final Results

The client was over the moon with the images and immediately looked to book me in for several future events.
