Destination Wedding: Colombia Style
Happy new year to you, thanks for popping by my blog.
As we enter 2015, it would be a great time to review some of my favourite photos from 2014. I will do that, but not before I tell you in a bit more detail about a recent trip to Colombia.
I was invited by some good friends to photograph their wedding in Bogota. Having never been to anywhere in South America, there was no way I was going to pass up this opportunity.
December came round fast and soon I was on my way to Bogota. I stayed in the country for ten days, some in Bogota and the rest on the Caribbean coast in the North. What a beautiful country it is. Luckily I could remember enough of my Spanish A-Level from my school days because most people don't speak a word of English there!
The bride and groom and family had planned out a whole itinerary for the many guests who came from abroad, and it was jam packed with activities. We stayed in amazing places, including cabins in the forest right by the beach, which was awesome and full of wildlife, as the pictures will show.
The food was also amazing - I was properly introduced to ceviche, which is now a firm favourite of mine, and I'm pleased, because it's actually Peruvian and there are more and more Peruvian restaurants popping up in London nowadays. I also had some very memorable steaks....yum.
I can only show you a few of the wedding photos but it gives you a hint of what was an amazing wedding day.
Thanks to my good friends for inviting me along, it was a trip I won't forget in a hurry. Enjoy the pictures...
